2023 Advancement of STEAM CAPSTONE PROJECT

Net-Zero for One Planet



The Foundation for the Advancement of STEAM (FAS) is announcing the ‘2023 Advancement of STEAM Capstone Project’ as a part of the 2023 International Mathematical Science and Creativity Competition & Conference’. This project aims to develop and apply various projects from ideas related to STEAM Education, which can lead future era of convergence and enhance the science convergence technology. This project is open to any university students (both undergraduate and graduate students), pre-university students, or any general public who are interested in Convergence Education and/or in the area of education or STEAM, Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Mathematics.


Purpose


  • Establishment of foundation for convergence science and technology culture, development and dissemination of contents related to convergence science and technology
  • Calculation and demonstration of convergence and complex education ideas using 4Dframe, a modeling tool for Convergence Education
  • Contest for the development of 4Dframe-STEAM educational contents (education programs, works) in the form of a capstone project
  • Select and award innovative STEAM educational contents to develop convergence science and technology culture



Eligible Participants


  • Eligible Participants: 1)University (Both graduate and undergraduate) students, 2) High School students or adults who are interested in STEAM Education
  • Team Details: • Each team requires a leading professor/teacher and a team leader. Members should be consisted of 2~5 people* and MUST include at least one university or pre-university student.
  • A leading professor/teacher can lead multiple teams. Leading teacher/professor does not count to the number of team members



Project Topic


  • Topic: Net-Zero for one planet!
  • Contents : Topic-related STEAM education activities, works, programs, theme inquiry, etc.
  • Details : You can choose between 2 kits (Math and Science Creativity Kit / Mechatronics Kit) for your project.
    •  Convergence Education Contents should be 1) Unit activity or works, 2(Education program, 3)Topic research.
    •  Convergence Education Contents should be 1) Unit activity or works, 2(Education program, 3)Topic research.




Official Project Kit

Each team(2~5 members) should utilize one type of 4Dframe kit(Math and Science Creativity Kit / Mechatronics Kit). More 4Dframe materials can be used if necessary.




Evaluation standards


  • Eligible teams will be evaluated based on our evaluation standards.*
  • *Evaluation judges of both phases will be consisted of 3 experts appointed by the Foundation for the Advancement of STEAM
  • Phase 1 documental evaluation will select 10 best teams among applicants.
  • Main Competition evaluation will be done real time. Documents (100) + Main Competition (100) = 200 in total
